A Performing Arts Centre for Prince George, BC, Canada

Facilities Recommended to City Council

Based on the conclusions of the Report, the Society recommended that a facility should be built in the downtown of Prince George which includes:

  • an 800 seat multi-use proscenium theatre,

  • a 250 seat flexible space theatre, also known as a black box theatre,

  • a multi-use rehearsal space,

  • administrative offices for building and events management, and

  • a public foyer which could be used for a variety of community functions.

What Could the Facility Look Like?

The following "footprint" sketch provides an idea of what could be done to accommodate the features recommended to City Council. While the functions can be accommodated on less than a typical city block, the sketch lays out a building on a block. With other partners in such a project, sites can be selected to accommodate various commercial and residential users.
